Welcome to

Bryn Celyn Queen Shetlands

Bryn Celyn Queen Shetlands is a small stud founded by Catherine and Gary Curtis in 2022 and is set in a fabulous south-facing location, on the fringe of the Black Mountains, near Ammanford. Our stud has far-reaching views over the rolling countryside and mountains beyond. We aim to breed registered miniature Shetland ponies of good temperament and correct conformation out of quality stock. Our bloodlines include Destiny, Timberland and Windwillow. We believe that a great width of chest, good bone, abundance of hair, a good head and super nostrils make a good miniature Shetland. Our mares are not and will not be bred every year as we feel this gives us stronger and healthier mares and foals.

Josie, Bluebell, Lily and Berry have been out for the summer with Mull. Early 2025 we will confirm who is in foal for a spring/summer new arrival. Vienna has been confirmed and we are super excited to see her first foal.

The love for a horse is just as complicated as the love for another human being. If you never love a horse, you will never understand. This is my beautiful Queenbee. Her 2 short years with us were an absolute pleasure. She was my best friend, and she has taught us all so much. It is still very hard to go out to the yard and not see or hear her greeting us.
